Dear Campus Advisors:

You are the critical hub of the wheel that connects students who are interested in studying abroad with the Programs Abroad Office. We value your knowledge, insights, and efforts in helping our students learn abroad. You alleviate concerns over financial cost, academic progress, and separation from family and friends; you suggest countries for your students to consider and offer your contact information to students while overseas; you encourage students to plan ahead (hooray!)—in short, you are our key to success! Without you, we could not perform our jobs and students might not have the opportunity for an educational experience of a lifetime.

We are engaged in an important initiative called "academic integration."

Our faculty directors, Sharon Rose and Paula Levin, along with the Academic Integration Analyst, Kelly O'Sullivan, has spear-headed this effort to work with staff and faculty advisors to create advising tools which will make your jobs easier and that will benefit your students immensely. If we haven't worked with your department to customize these advising tools, we hope to soon!

One of the most popular tools for students is the "Study Abroad in Your Major" web page.

We've listed the department/college pages we've completed, below. You could be next.

We can also work with departments to coordinate "Study Abroad in Your Major" info sessions.

A PAO advisor will facilitate a question and answer period with a panel of student returnees. These have been hugely successful. What better way to encourage your students to go abroad (and lighten your work load) than show them a list of previously approved EAP/OAP courses for their major? We'd be happy to help you compile this list and even put it into a web-based database for you.

Not sure who your PAO department liaison is? Check this list for contact information.

We sincerely thank you for the important work you perform and for your willingness to encourage your students to achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals in an international setting.
