Revelle in Rome

Why you should go

When touring Rome in 1786, German author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote, “I have finally arrived in this Capital of the World! I now see all the dreams of my youth coming to life.” For more than two thousand years, Rome has been a place of wonder and self-discovery. Its layers of history and its rich intellectual traditions in the arts and letters make it an ideal setting not only to study the humanities but to live them. Today, with a population of nearly three million, Rome is one of Europe’s largest cities and a place where tradition and modernity meld into a dynamic cultural experience.
