(He/Him/Siya) Hello, everyone! I am a third-year student here at UCSD. I am a Sixth College student majoring in Cognitive Science specializing in design and interaction and minoring in Interdisciplinary Computing in the Arts - Music. I am an active member of Kaibigang Pilipin@, one of the Pilipino orgs on campus, and am involved in the UCSD dance community (Ascension, Supa Hot Pocketz, Kasama Modern). I really relish any human interaction and socialization, in general, and I thoroughly enjoy going on spontaneous adventures. I truly love trying new things, absorbing myself in anything that involves music, and I cannot emphasize enough my everlasting love for food!

Two summers ago (2022), I took part in the Jazz in Paris Global Seminar. I am not, in any way, exaggerating when I say that this was the best decision I made and the most unforgettable experience I have ever undergone in my life. I made so many new friends and encountered so many new things and experiences with this lovely group of people. We took MUS 8GS and MUS 150GS, which were both very engaging courses! We learned so much about the African diaspora of Jazz to Europe (specifically Paris) during WWII and the many different stylizations and improvisational sounds characteristic of the Jazz genre. With that, we participated in walking tours that placed us directly in the context of the content that we were learning and went to Jazz clubs/performances where we basked in the presence of harmonious music and timeless history.
